Joel DeMary

Joel is a Pittsburgh based guitarist, recognized for his work in local rock music and musical theater. Known for his technical versatility and dynamic stage presence, he brings an ‘effortless rock-star energy**’ to any production. 

A student of classical piano, Joel’s life is absorbed in music: dive-bars, pit orchestras, college recitals, festivals, and everywhere in-between. This culminated with double header runs as a ‘featured’ guitarist in Rock of Ages through Summer 2025, and Jesus Christ Superstar in Spring 2026. 

Joel is a founding member of Villainess, a Pittsburgh based hard rock quartet. Other performance credits include: Godspell; Solid Gold: In Concert; One Short Night: A Broadway Dinner; Wizard of Oz; Into the Woods; Bye-Bye Birde; Hello, Dolly!; and Suessical.
